I already went to Mt Pyre. All the way thru where a old couple were. I defeated Team Magma. I am supposed to get an orb from the couple but I did not receive any orb. I went to Slaterport city to find Capt. Stern but no success.
Any suggestions?

You have to talk to the old man and after you beat team magma go to the Team Aqua Base in Lilycove.

Go to MT.chimmeny and go down jagged pass you will discover Team
Magma's base beat them and then go to slateport and team Aqua should steal the submarine. Go to Team Aqua's base and beat them. Then you can get to Mossdeep city.
