So I'm just wondering what your favorite campaign mission(s) is/are and why. Personally, I like S.O.G. because I always wanted to play a good shooter based in Vietnam( I tried Combat: Vietnam but I didn't really like it...), and while CoD was only partially based in it, it still met and exceeded my hopes. I also like Retribution just because of the beginning.

That would've been great fun - had the other moron not been in my way all the bloody time. If they're going to do a stealth incursion mission, do a bloody stealth incursion mission. Not follow the leader & knife the guys he hasn't D;

Well, technically speaking, it wasn't really follow the leader, because you could choose who to knife, and I thought the whole "stay out of sight" and "knife only" thing was pretty stealthy. And having to swim underwater so you weren't spotted. But, hey, to each his own and all that, right? Your view on what stealth is is probably just different than mine. After all, I don't play many games besides FPS's so...you might have a better idea on that sort of thing.

Well the mission was pretty linear. Splinter Cell is brilliant stealth. That Black Ops misison was weak at best for me.
the entire thing was supposed to be about deniable operations. Can't really deny **** if they're out in the open blowing up crap. Kind of defeats the purpose of CIA/SOG involvement.
But that's just me nit picking. I'd rather have had it be a lot more stealth based - but that isn't the CoD way sadly.

Well, I can see where you're coming from now that Splinter Cell has been involved. I've never played it myself, like I said; I don't usually play many other genres(notable exceptions being Dead Space and Prototype) so I'm sure you know more about that than me. Also, I find it strange that I never thought about how very undeniable the "deniable operations" were. It is pretty obvious you're there when you're blowing rocket ships up not ten seconds after they launch.

Pretty much - Sure that kind of action does fall under the "deniable opertations" M.O - but when you think of Black Ops or Deniable Ops - you tend to think more of low-key sabbotage, stealth incursions & assassinations - not blow a ton of crap up, make a heap of noise & have shoot outs with everyone.
I can understand that the way things were portrayed in the game is how things actually happened back in the Vietnam/Cold wars - it's just the whole hype around "Black/Deniable Ops" that Treyarch pushed, I was hoping for something more. Instead, we get a crazy guy going crazy & doing crazy sh!t the entire campaign. It was just more of the same really & I'd hoped they'd break away from it a bit.
