So, the rumor of IW making this game type into the next map pack that comes out, is most likely true. Have you played this game type before?
Here is a quick rundown of it: There is a nuke in the middle of the map, there are two teams. First team to 100 points when near the nuke, wins. No time limit, you have to have hold of the nuke for 100 seconds.
Last night, Filip, Deadzone, and I were invited to play this, and we took it. It was loads of fun, and lots of deaths. If you get the chance to play it, take it.
Sounds cool, they need some more life to this game. Anyways does anyone know when there going to announce the Map Pack DLC, I heard on twitter it was going to happen sometime this week.
Yes, I played this on my Xbox 360. Deadzone, had a friend who got the mod, and invited me and qwertyuio to play. We played, and it was amazing. I captured two nukes out of the three games I played.
I'm positive it's available via Mod on PS3 and most definitely available on PC. How can you get it? Find a friend who can mod it, or google it.
I know that the game type is an unfinished script/code imbedded in the game code.
I haven't played it myself, but I've seen videos my mates have taken where he was invited to play it. He said that it was quite boring, too many Danger-Close classes & campers. The game took too long, as they'd only just manage to take the nuke off each team before they were all killed & it swapped teams again lol
I don't particularly want this to be included in the DLC.
As for the DLC itself, I've just gotten something over Facebook that says the xbox version of MW2 is getting a 'stimulus' pack on March 30th, that includes;
additional multiplayer maps, including brand-new battlegrounds and fan-favorites from Call of... Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
But that's all the info I've found about it so far.

Game modes aren't added in Map Packs, when you Start up multiplayer after opening the game it usually says 'collecting Playlist data' right? That's how new game modes are added as well as map rotation for current game modes, though it doesn't affect it most of the time.
Pffft, nice way to kill the wishful thinking there Alex lol
Although I've always had the suspicion that if there was a new game mode to be released, they'd include it within a pack that wasn't called 'map pack' number X or whatever.

It would be added for everyone if it's in a Playlist update which is more than likely the case, but they could add the GTNW in a Map Pack but I doubt they will.
About this being a timed exclusive for Xbox: I'm led to believe this is only for two weeks, gives me ample time to scrape up the money.
The only benefit of GTNW is that on the CoD wiki it was reported that every captured Nuke in game, counts towards the players Tac. Nuke killstreak challenge in the Barricks... thats about it really.

I wouldn't play with fire and actually do this. In order to unlock Global Thermonuclear War, One Flag CTF and V.I.P, you have to unlock the developer's console for MW2 by third-party programs (read:hacks) that will most likely get you banned from Steam/LIVE/PSN/whatever.
AgentGOD's Unleashed mod for MW2 has already seen multiple people be banned by VAC on the PC version for using these hacks. I wouldn't risk it for a few gametypes that are probably going to be released in the near future anyway.
