Map addictions

So the new map pack has been released to everybody over Xbox Live (I don't know about PSN yet) and well, all of my friends have it except me :(

Any of you guys get it yet? Are they any good? What did you think of them?

Not out on PS or PC till April 29th, so no I have not played them, nor am I planning on getting it.

I got it today, and probably the best map is Bailout out of all the new ones, and Overgrown for the CoD 4 maps. I had a lot of fun playing them today.

My least favorite is Storm.

Hahaha, I love how the PS3 lot don't get it until a month later, and they say LIVE isn't worth paying for.

The map are pretty damn awesome, all in all. Both the CoD:4 maps are good, with some improvements made to them I might add. The new maps are all perfectly good maps, there's really nothing to complain about.

Careful now. I know this isn't the case for this site; but fanboyism could be triggered by that kind of comment & I've seen flamewars started over even lesser comments about the platforms lol. Last thing we need on this peaceful site is a fanboy/girl flamewar XD



Can anyone give a very brief run down on the maps? even if its started in a new thread.. I want to see if these maps are worth getting on the 29th of April or whenever they come up & my internet atm is rubbish so I can't youtube :(

Is there really any difference between the 2?
IMO they could have picked better CoD4 maps

Before I bought them, I actually looked at them on the Advertisements xD. Just roll over on the maps and watch the short video on them.

The CoD 4 maps are the same, if you played them on there, just graphical changes.

Im glad that Crash and Overgrown are back.

Well. I like 2 of the maps.
Overgrown and Storm, and a little bit of Crash.

Overgrown, I went 20-4 on my first time playing
Storm I went 40-15 my First Time. My teammates couldn't get into the 30's. I was quite surprised

I'm looking forward to these maps, just don't know if they're worth 15 USD or not, guess I will find out over these next 4 or so weeks.

2: I like not getting it until a month later, that way I can find out about them and if it's worth it to buy it.

Oh, tony - there really is NO difference between the two consoles.

I've played Mw2 on both, on the same TV using the same internet connection - no discernable difference. From what I've heard. The only reason Xbox gets the updates eariler is because Microsoft threw a ton of money @ some production companies that make games for both consoles to get DLC packs before the PS3. Not sure if thats true - but its a very widespread & believed rumour.



I'm thinking about buying this Map Pack - even though I very rarely play anymore. Might be on in a couple of days time if anyone wants to join me & see me & my mates fail XD

Oh, and I was glad to see Overgrown return, but not Crash, I would have rather had Strike or Backlot.

I would have loved Bloc to return, and backlot would have been awesome.

Yeah - it was a bit stupid to have overgrown & crash come back. Pipeline & Wetwork should've been the two that came back. Imagine a wetwork without Frag spammers! Although there is the thermal which kind of takes the fun out of it, but there's coldblooded for that issue lol

Meh, Wetwork wasn't bad.
Crossfire would have been a good one to come out.

Did they fix the glitches?

From what I've been able to discern from youtube vids, the main glitch in Overgrown (near one of the houses where you 'bounce' into the hillside located in the riverbed) has been fixed.

From what a few vids commentaries had said was that the older maps have been altered in colouring, as well as a few things taken out (just very minor things) & some other very minor things added in. Thats all thats changed really.

I wouldn't have liked Crossfire - Smoke grenades were really the only safe way to cut through the houses on that map & cut across the street - Thermal kills that plan & coldblooded on Core matches doesn't really work.

Pipeline would probably have been my favourite map from Mw. It's a tie between Pipeline & District. Both maps I'd do really well in if I used the M40 or RPD lol

Uhh...there's a new map pack coming out? Why is this the first time I've heard of it?

This has been rumoured for about.... 4 or 5 months? lol

Xbox360 already has it.

29th or 30th April (can't remember which one) is when PS3 & PC get the DLC, which has 5 maps. 2 from MW which are;

Overgrown and Crash

3 new maps which are;

Storm, bailout (I think lol) and something.

Lol sorry I can't remember the names atm its been a few hours since I watched the gameplay commentaries on Youtube.

Just search of "Storm gameplay MW2" on youtube, and you'll get gameplay vids for that, as well as getting vids of the other two.
