I got ot level 20 without getting hit as much as Nero, but then Berial beat the crap out of me. I think he's actually the toughest of the smaller bosses.
You kidding right? Berial is the easiest boss in the game, followed closely by Baal/Dagon, then Echnida. Well that is how I think of course.
Beating BP with Nero is easy compared to Dante, you don't have to switch anything except between normal and DT mode. Dante has so many weapons and styles it gets confusing during a battle.
Completed BP with normal Nero but never with normal Dante, tried Super Dante and was owned by the Doppelganger Dante with his Royal Guard.
Two Blitz can be dealt easily with Nero AND Dante, when using Dante I usually have a harder time with Frost since they just won't lie down and let me kill it:
Nero - Use CS until the current surrounding the Blitz is gone then DT and Buster him three times, during the first two Busters fire your pistol to throw blades at it for additional damage. During the third Buster charge your pistol to level 3, after the third Buster the Blitz should go red, before the Blitz blows up shot it with a CS3 and it should die.
Note - You can be cancelled while in a Buster so kill all monsters first before assaulting the Blitz. If you are faced with two Blitz however, what I usually do is the above tactic but with one little change, that is while the Blitz is on the ground without a shield, walk as close to it as you can then activate the DT causing the Blitz to fly upwards, jump up to it then do a Buster while in the air, this decreases your chance of being hit, after the first Buster just follow the rest of the strategy mentioned above.
Dante - I just use the RG+Gilgamesh to kick of the shield on the Blitz then continue to rape it with Lucifer or a DRI. When he is red I just Trickster my way around using Lucifer and Shotgun.
DT: Devil Trigger BP: Bloody Palace CS: Charge Shot(not Counter-Strike) RG: Royal Guard DRI: Distorted Real Impact
I finally went back on DMC 4 yesterday, got to floor 19 with full health, the Blitz got my health to half-way then Berial raped me. I'm gonna try again later.
Berial is possibly the hardest of the three bosses. His movements are the least predictable, he's the hardest to damage, and the hardest to get to a point where you can DB him. Worst, his attacks are very powerful, and he can use pretty long range attacks as well.
Baal and Dagon have unbelievably predicatable moves, so they're almost insaultingly easy to dodge.
When you attack with a real impact using Gilgamesh go into DT mode just as you strike and exit it as the strike is about to finsh to cause massive damage. This works with other attacks too but is most effective with the real impact.
