Aeris could be revived for a short while, but, as she is revived, Sephiroth uses some type of skill/magic to be brought back too. Sephiroth then kills Aeris and flees, once again.
But, that's just an idea, and it didn't take me that long to think of it.

Did you watch Advent Children? Sephiroth is eternal now that he has been implemented into the Lifestream.

I too forgot that, I can't even remember where my Advent Children DVD is.
But, if they were to make another sequel, I'm probably counting on Sephiroth being in it.

Or it could be two completely new protagonists, because Cloud also says that he is in the lifestream and that there will always be someone like him. So it could be a war between both of their descendants.
