Discuss em. I've only ever had 2 followers: Boone and Rex. I had the option to take someone called Veronica, and some other doctor dude, but didn't, cause Boone is freaking epic. His only problem is that you can't help the Legion, which I'm planning to do next..... Rex is like dogmeat, a bit of a pain. He also can't search, but he can carry stuff now.
I have Boone with me. No one else. I came across Veronica, but I like Boone's skill and weapon better. I tried to get Cass to join before I got Boone, but I guess it takes a while before that option comes up.
I haven't met anyone else yet (Although I think I saw ED-E, waiting for repairs, I'm not entirely sure...) but I'd like to take a peek at them for a possible replacement for Boone.
EDIT: I finally picked up ED-E, and I haven't seen it in combat yet, so I'm not sure if I'll switch it out for Rex yet.
How the heck do you get Rex?! D: I'll have to look that up..I want a dog. :3<3
Yeah, I have Boone, he's a fricken beast! Best combo to kill death claws, the sniper I got him does half, then the hunting shotgun I have with two shots in VATS does the other half. I'm thinking about getting ED-E next, I have all the components.
lmao, I found that out the hard way. I'm planing to have four save files, just for the fact that I want all the achevements but I don't want to have to start over every time. Right now I'm doing the NCR, next I'll do Mr.House, then the Legion(in which I'll then get rid of Boone(</3)), then independent/Yes Man. I'll finish all the Ind./Yes Man quests except the last one. Then just go out and roam, and pretty much do whatever I want, trying to get the other achievements(:

Credit to .Impact for this good lookin' guy right here<3
You go to the Kings in 2nd cell of Freeside, up to the king, and there's Rex. You talk to him, then you have to go east to Jacobstown to try and find a way to fix his brain.
Also, Arcade Gannon is a pretty damn good replacement for Boone when following the Legion, he just won't help the final battle.
I also did all 4 endings, finishing yesterday. Now I'm planning to laze back, and go esplorin.
We should probably keep this clear of general discussion... :P
I currently have all the followers either in the Lucky 38 or in my party except for Raul, who I'll pick up soon.
ATM, I like to have Rex and Boone in my party. ED-E is nice, but the range of my radar makes me think enemies are closer than they really are, which is sort of confusing and annoying. Cass isn't a bad party member either.
No. You can have one humanoid followers (Arcade, Boone, Cass, Veronica, Raul, or Lily) and one non-humanoid follower (Rex or ED-E). There's no trick to it.
Unless you meant the Lucky 38 thing, which is just that when you part from an ally, you can tell them to wait for you at the Lucky 38 (if you've unlocked it) rather than their normal spot.
There was a multiple companion glitch in Fallout 3 (Get the Puppies! perk and kill Dogmeat to get a new slot, get a new follower, get the new Dogmeat, repeat) but that was rather useless because companion kills didn't give you XP in that game, unlike this one. To my knowledge, their isn't a similar glitch in this game.
Eh... ED-E can't take much damage before he goes down and has a somewhat annoying perk, but he can carry a lot of gear, has a pretty interesting side-quest, and isn't bad in a fight.
Yeah, the radar thing will become super annoying really fast. Because it extends the range of your radar, it will tell you the direction enemies are, but not how far away they are. It's confusing and can get you to hunt down enemies you don't need to. However, if you're trying to play a sneaky sniper, combining the perk with Boone's isn't a bad idea.
