Basically, I have no clue what the problem is. I'm at the part where I play as Dagger, and I'm trying to get into Treno. Every time I try to enter it (just Treno) the screen goes black, as if I am entering it, and just sits there, no music or anything. Please, if you can, HELP!!

I had the same problem so this is what you could do

1) Have your best friend who hates his step dad steal the game at night from his dad'a collection and have him give it to you
2) Go get on Ebay and bid away

Clean the disk, clean ur playstation.

If that fails, go to GamesStop and search the $10 bin for FFIX. It's worth another $10 for the game.

It's a bargain bin game (no offense) but becaue it is only Playstation 1 and there have been like 6 or 7 Final Fantasies since it, it will not sell for a lot, but finding it might be a problem.

Amazon.com has some. So does ebay (dont trust them). best to get a disc scratch repairer spray. They are more common and make life easier.

Spray's can't repair scratches. they only clean smudges

really? I was reading about them on gamestop. they have a 12 dollar spray, or some liquid that repairs scratches 95% of the time. It looks really good and the reviews were great for it.

No. Games dont work when the film gets damaged. Spray doesnt fix that.

In fact, believe it or not, the discs are more fragile to damage from the label side, because the film is closer to that side. Scratches on the other side won't affect it, as long as its not deep enough to reach the film

Well give it a try, since perhaps all your disc needs is a clean, but like i said, it won't repair scratches, only clean

Well you'll still be able to clean the disc, but it wont repair damages made to the film of the CD (which is what usually causes problems)

Most of the scratches are shallow, but it looks like I took sandpaper or metal wool (is that right?) and scraped it.
