well i'm getting final fantasy ix with little experience of the game. butexperience of other final fantasys. it would really heelp if you could all post little bits of knowlage, basic info and hints ect.

Beat it in under 12 hrs to get the secret ending (no, you can't cycle to 100)

It's said to be one of the easier FF's, but it is my favorite.
TIP: Make sure you buy all the weapons in the shops and learn the abilities each weapon holds.

well, with 2 hours playtime altogether i have to say the cutscene of the forest was absolutly amazing ^^!

About the forest...There is a fountain that restores MP and HP of all your characters.
(The forest is one of my favorite places in the game)

yes, i came across the mp and hp restore spot. poor blank though ^.^, i have not been playing continuously through the day and have left it on pause to go out i'm currently at the 3rd vivi like magi boss.

The big city with Cid (I apologize for I forget it's name) make sure you go synthesize a BUTTERFLY SWORD, it's really good.

i have just hit the second disc. with roughly about 7-8 hours game play.
edit: is it possible to learn fira ect without the staff, due to the fact he loses the skill when i change the staff?

Each weapon has skills that carry an AP bar, you get AP from killing monsters.
When the equiped weapon gets enough AP points to fill the bar you don't need to have the weapon equiped to use the ability, it will just always be there.
The better the skill, the more AP it will take to get it.

that place is a pain to get to... There is an actual order which I learned many times, but never remembered on how to get in.
It's creepy. Also make sure you stop by the marshland swamp and go FROG HUNTING!

Black Mage village is amazing, but after that you go to the weird place with weird dwarf like creatures.
