Avid creature catchers and beast battlers who loved Pokemon Black and Pokemon White were likely over the moon with the news that Nintendo's next foray(s) into the Pokemon-dwelling regions of the gameosphere would see the company monopolise on the success of B&W by making two entire sequels with Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2, both games preparing to launch for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS (on 3DS the games will be playable in 2D mode).
This week, Nintendo officially announced the launch date for both titles - the Pokemon Black Version 2 and the Pokemon White Version 2 release date is October 12th, 2012.
The games are set two years after the events of the original versions of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, with gameplay once again putting players in the Unova region. The games will also include a new location called Virbank City - "home to Pokéstar Studios", a movie studio where players will see themselves, alongside their Pokemon, starring in a movie (which will then be rated by an in-game audience).
October 12th will also see Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2 include two familiar faces in the form of returning characters Bianca and Cheren who are now an assistant to Professor Jupiter and a Gym Leader (respectively). These two are featured alongside non-Unova-native Pokemon - Eevee, Riolu, Tyranitar, Arcanine and Mareep - who do not hail from the region and so will be rare. And speaking of rare - Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2 will also include Legendary Pokémon Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. Click here
