Back in November, 2011, Gran Turismo boss man, Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that Gran Turismo 6 is in the works, "of course we're working on GT6 already and I think what really will be the separating factor is something that we can't update through a DLC is something that obviously has to be saved for GT6" obviously every driving enthusiast with a PS3 was thrilled to hear this, despite not knowing anything about exactly what it was that Gran Turismo 6 would entail. Now, Yamauchi has revealed a few more tidbits on exactly what we can expect from Gran Turismo 6.
Speaking at the China Joy game event in Beijing earlier this week, at a Gran Turismo Q&A session the series producer revealed that not only have he and the rest of the team at Polyphony Digital been working on the framework for Gran Turismo ever since work on the previous iteration of GT, Gran Turismo 5, ended, but that with regards to the game's development, "[They are] always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression". This leads us to believe that a PS4 / next-gen version of Gran Turismo 6 is very much on the cards, supported even more so by the fact that Yamauchi said this - "If we were to make it, we'd like to make use of the ability to play anywhere and the ability to use 3G at any time" - when asked about the possbility of Gran Turismo on Sony's new handheld console, the PS Vita.
Other Gran Turismo 6 info revealed at the conference suggested that the mod ability we saw in Gran Turismo 5 would also be present in GT6, as he said that "if [the development team] can find a good balance, we'd like to increase the areas where users can make modifications" and that we may also see the famous Shanghai Circuit in the game as he plans to visit the racetrack today (27th of July, 2012).
