Ok the reason MC activated halo is because the flood keeps comin and comin so halo is there to kill there food ( covenent, humans,ect ) and than than the bodies float in space than the flood starts to starve to death. Than when you play the Maw thats why you have to race time to get in the ship. Get it?

The reason you need to race against time is because Cortana made the engines blow in 5 mins ( I think ), so you need to find away to get of the ship, Halo wasnt acxtivated.....

No, the pelican doesnt have the power to fly back to Earth. The spartans had a mission before Reach got under attack and that was to capture a covenant ship, so the pelican and the longsword were up against 5 conenant flag ships in the debris of Halo. So they had a battle, few eliets got shot, they bored one of the ships and took it over. There was 3 life pods things and in one of them there was the spatan called Linda, best sniper of all time
