In what is probably an effort to remind holiday shoppers, "hey guys, we'll have Halo 3 some time in the next year," Microsoft has revealed three different versions of Halo 3 coming to retail. GameStop and EB Games are currently accepting pre-orders for the game with a placeholder release date of November 1, 2007.
The standard game will cost $59.99, and apparently come with very few frills. The Collector's Edition will cost $69.99 and will most likely include some kind of bonus disc full of special features (no concrete details of the content have been released).
But the Legendary Edition is what will really make hardcore Halo fans drool. This bad boy features the game disc and three bonus discs that include a behind the scenes feature, a "making of," hi-res collection of all the cutscenes from Halo 1 and 2 with commentary, "community content" from Red vs. Blue and This Spartan Life, and exclusive gamer tiles & a theme.
But the kicker of LE is that it comes with an numbered Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI Helmet replica to put on your desk, shelf, or whatever.
Commence rioting in the streets.
