You can get microsoft points by buying them from store,XboxLive storres...etc. They are used to buy things from Xbox Stores (Extra Weapons,New Maps,Upgrades,etc.)

You buy points at the store. Or you can buy them by using a credit card, in the MarketPlace.

Once you have points, you spend them in the MarketPlace.
