Still Having Trouble

Really, what's the best way to take down a Hunter? I think I've tried just about every weapon/tactic there is... but I'm still getting killed a lot by them. How does everyone else deal with them? Note that I almost always play on Legendary so one hit by them is an instant kill.

The orange part on the backs, hit them, shot them there. It will do some damage

...Way to state the obvious. Mind explaining how you get behind them without them ripping you in half?

Multiple players, that's how. It's called a distraction and a killer.

If you have to go single player...then grenade/stick the heck out of them. That's your best bet, explosives. Also, try to detract them with other marines if they are around.

What qwert said, stick them, or as one charges it's energy cannon. Jump in front of it's friend and let it kill him.

Yeah, I'm always on single player because no one else wants to play with me. Might try the ally killing thing.

Not at the moment. I tried the towel trick on my xbox a few weeks ago and I'm still waiting for it to die. Once it dies and I send it in, I might get LIVE on the new one.

Something I just noticed Filip saying. Why save the other marines? I'm more important. Let them be the dummy so I can shoot. D;

No sorry what I meant was use the marines to distract the hunters while you kill em.

Any explosive weapon or grenades work.

I.e. Frag/Plasma Grenade, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Launcher, Fuel Rod Gun, Rocket Launcher, Artillery Strike Target Designator, Needler, Needler Rifle, Plasma Launcher.

If you damage it's armour, it's back becomes more vulnerable. Using weapons suck as the Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Spiker, Plasma Rifle and Plasma Repeater will do lots of damage.

Have allies distract them, or you can give your allies explosives with low ammo and have them do some damage. Invulnerable Allies such as Noble Team members are also key as they cannot be killed. They make the perfect distraction.

Bad Derek, Marines are useful for your low ammo explosives, so keep 'em alive.

you can do it by your self, just run side ways round the thing and punch the weak spot, jet pack or sprint is handy for this. the distraction method doesn't work on reach, the ai is built to attack whomever is closest.


other successfull methods, grenade sticks to weak spot and rocket hits. just use whatever you have to take them down.
