Hey, Da Blitz here to explain the Magicians path in the Game.

Ok, to become a Magician in this game, you need to be LV 8 and 20 INT(Intelligence) and then head to Ellina and talk to Grendel the Really Old to get the job Magician. Once you advance, you'll get the LV 1 Skill Book and 1 SP(Skill Point). You'll get 3 SP every time you LV up. Use these to advance and master your new skills.
Extras for advancing to Mage: Your MP WILL double+ and get a little HP.

Passive Moves = Abilities that activate on their own.
Supportive Moves = Abilities that you activate then stay for a certain amount of time.
Active Moves = Abilities that you need to activate yourself constantly.
Max Stats = Describtion of Skill at MAX.
Comments: = My opinions about certain moves, to use or not to use.

Skill Book 1: The Basics of a Magician

Improving MP Recovery Master LV: 16: Constant additional recovery of MP
With this, you'll recover even more MP every 10 sec. The higher the level of the character and the skill level, the more recovery it enables the character to have.
Comments: Useful in the long run, especial for 'Rest' recovers. Max.

Improving Max MP Increase Master LV: 10:If Level UP, +20 more; if AP applied, +10 more on top on MaxMP
Need: 5 SP of Improving MP Recovery
While having a Level UP, if AP is used on Max MP, it raises the level of increase for Max MP.
Comments: Max it.

Magic Guard Master LV: 20:MP -12; Replace 80% of HP damage as MP for 600 seconds.
Temporarily replaces damage with MP instead of HP. If MP reaches 0, the HP takes a full hit.
Comments: Essential. Max it.

Magic Armor Master LV: 20:MP -16; Weapon Def. +40 for 400 seconds.
Need: 3 SP of Magic Guard
Temporarily increases your weapon defense by blowing magic into the armor.
Comments: Good, but don't put SP in it while in 1st Job. If you have extra SP you need to spend while in the other jobs, this move makes nice SP useage.

Energy Bolt Master LV: 20:MP -14; Basic attack 55, mastery 60%
Use MP to attack one enemy.
Comments: Beginner move. Only put 1 SP into when you advance and use until you get Magic Claw or if you want to save MP.

Magic Claw Master LV: 20:MP -20; Basic attack 40 x 2 Hit, mastery 60%
Need: 1 SP of Energy Bolt
Use MP to attack an enemy twice.
Comments: An essential move until you get better single strike moves. Max.

NOTE: NO. You can not master all of these moves . You must choose which ones you will master and/or particially master.

Once you've reached LV: 30, you'll be able to advance to Wizard(Fire/Poison) or (Ice/Lightning) or a Cleric.

2nd Job

Once you've reached Lv 30, go back to Ellinia's Magic Library, which is located at the highest point of Ellinia. Go inside, talk to Grendel the Really Old. He'll give you a letter and you've to pass it to the job advancement instructor located at the north of Ellinia. After giving the letter, you'll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.

Once you've collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and he'll award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Ellinia's Magic Library, and talk to Grendel the Really Old once again, where then you'll advance as the Wizard or Cleric.

Creates an electric force field around the wizard and makes an electric lightening attack on every monster that's within the area.
Comments: Your first mob attack. Max it.

Personally, I like Thunderbolt over Cold Beam, but some are Ice mages and choose Cold beam over Thunderbolt. And ther a few hybrids w/ Ice and Thunder maxed. 'tis up to u.

Cleric

Skill Book 2: Holy Magic Basics

MP Eater Master LV: 20:For every attack, 30% success rate, absorb 40% of the enemy's MaxMP

The amount of healing depends on the number of people being healed, and the undead monster in the vicinity of this will receive damage.

Invincible Master LV: 20:MP -30; Weapon damage -30% for 300 seconds

Holy Arrow Master LV: 20:MP -24; Basic attack 80, mastery 60%
Fires holy arrows at an enemy. Applies major damage to the undeads and devil-based monsters.
Comments: Like Heal, It does the most damage against Undead monsters. Virtually, as powerful as a Max Magic Claw.

NOTE: NO. You can not master all of these moves . You must choose which ones you will master and/or particially master.

Once you've reached LV: 70, your next job WILL depend on your 2nd job choice: F/P Wizard--> F/P Mage; I/L Wizard--> I/L Mage; Cleric--> Priest

3rd Job

Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Robeira. After talking to Robeira, head back to Victoria Island and talk to "Grendel the Really Old" which is located in Ellinia. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Forest of Evil II and it'll bring you to "The Path of the Glittering Crystal". Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman's dark side to obtain the Black Charm.

Return to "Grendel the Really Old" and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Robeira. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Robeira in El Nath and give her the Necklace of Wisdom.

Comments: I personally choose Explosion and Magic Composition over this move. Not many monsters are weak against poison, so max Composition for ur poisoning.

Seal Master LV:20:MP -30; 95% success rate for 20 seconds
Need: 3 SP of Element Amplification
Seals up the enemies around you for a certain amount of time. Once sealed up, the monsters can't use attacking skills, but the skill does not work on boss monsters.

Seal Master LV:20:MP -30; 95% success rate for 20 seconds
Need: 3 SP of Element Amplification
Seals up the enemies around you for a certain amount of time. Once sealed up, the monsters can't use attacking skills, but the skill does not work on boss monsters.
Comments: A misunderstood skill, like Slow, but useful all the same. It locks all skills on monsters, including power-ups, leaving them w/ only charging as a way of attacking.

Magic Booster Master LV:20:HP -30, MP -25; Casting speed +2 for 200 seconds
Need: 3 SP of Element Amplification

Uses ice & lightening-based spell on a single enemy. Applies massive damage to monsters that are weak against ice or lightening, and the enemy will be frozen for a certain time.
Comments: An excellent attack, but Thunder Spear makes a better single-strike move.

Priest

Skill Book 3: Adv. Holy Magic

Element Resistance Master LV:20:50% increase in tolerance against element-based spell attacks
Gains a higher tolerance for all element-based spell attacks from the enemy.
Comments: Helps resist magic attacks. Max if u want.

Summoning Dragon Master LV:30:MP -80; Summon a dragon with basic attack 150 for 140 seconds
Need: 1 Summoning Rock
Summons a holy dragon for a certain amount of time. The dragon will stay beside you and attack the enemies in the process. The higher the skill level, the stronger the summoned dragon is.
Comments: Cool, but only use 15 SP in this. 4th Job reasons. Extra SP can go to this move.

NOTE: NO. You can not master all of these moves . You must choose which ones you will master and/or particially master.

Yes, I am done until all 4th Job skills are done. ?Till then, u may post-up ways u think in particular that is the best way 2 raise this job. This Thread will remain open.

I am new to this forum, but I was wondering if I was allowed to add onto what you have written...

There are many builds to a magician, such as the imperfect which requires 1 Energy Bolt then raising Improving Mp Recovery to 5, and maxing out Improving Max Mp Increase.

Words of advice: Do not max out Energy Bolt as it can be blocked by obstacles, and does only single round of damage at a base attack of I believe 55 or 65, while Magic Claw does 2 times the damage, consumes only 2 Mp more, and has a base attack of 40, as well as going through walls, and rocks which Energy Bolt cannot.

Also I recamend not using Magic Armor at all, as Magic Guard is much better.

Here is the build I followed (I am not copying any website, just following my common sense Anxious )

level 8 -- 1 Energy Bolt
level 9 -- 3 Improving Mp Recovery
level 10 -- 2 Improving Mp Recovery, 1 Improving Max Mp Increase
level 11 -- 3 Improving Max Mp Increase
level 12 -- 3 Improving Max Mp Increase
level 13 -- 3 Improving Max Mp Increase (It is maxed out now)
level 14 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 15 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 16 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 17 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 18 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 19 -- 3 Magic Claw
level 20 -- 2 Magic Claw (It is maxed out now), 1 Improving Mp Recovery
level 21 -- 3 Improving Mp Recovery
level 22 -- 3 Improving Mp Recovery
level 23 -- 3 Improving Mp Recovery
level 24 -- 1 Improving Mp Recovery (It is maxed out now), 2 Magic Guard
level 25 -- 3 Magic Guard
level 26 -- 3 Magic Guard
level 27 -- 3 Magic Guard
level 28 -- 3 Magic Guard
level 29 -- 3 Magic Guard
level 30 -- 3 Magic Guard (It is maxed out now)
