the final lap seems to be a problem area for me in any race. i get hit by shells and other objects left and right on the last lap. i can go a whole game and get hit twice, but for some reason on the last lap i get hit 4-5 times. any one else finding this true?

yes I have had that a few times. I was in first on the last lap half way, got hit 4-6 times. ended up coming in 11th.

I found the same thing. Infact if you want to be cheap like me you willl use the method of trying to come in last, then on the last lap get a amazing item and win lols.

The last lap, you die/get hit every time. Happens to me too.

Yes I can agree with the last lap cures. I find the best thing to do is try to stay in 2nd or 3rd. The on the final lap go for first.

I just get really far ahead and that does it. Even if i do get hit i always carry a blocking item like a bananna so that limits it and then once i get hit im too far ahead.

Yeah I noticed that to. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact you get better items when your in last.

basically all you gotta do once your in first is get a green shell or banana (because how often do you get a red shell in first place?) hold it behind you, get another item, hold your other item behind you until an item from behind hits you, then just whip out your next item and repeat.

Thats exacly what I do. But it fails when you are hit with a blue shell, struck by lightening, or hit with a pow item.

I do lol, and here is how it happends.
I am in first, I have banana's ready for defence. Then someone uses a blue shell, I get hit, lose my banana's, then get hit by a red shell, by this time they catch me, run over me, I get hit by a star, im now in 12th place lol.
And yeah, the final lap is cursed.

I agree that if ur in the last or close to last place then you do have the better items. However I am now forever in the front due to the Sprinter and I stay in first place. I been in 1st Place on Wifi for 2,500 games. Trying to get to 5,100 Win on WFC and play with 5,100 games.

Well yeah that happens to me and it stinks. I get in 3rd in the last lap sometimes because sometimes you know its gonna be worse than others.
