The element part(Aqua, Heat, Wood), I think, comes at random. The other part(shield, guts), you can affect which one you get.

qwll...kinda...to get a specific element...use only chips and navis(preferably not because then you'll end up getting an elemntal brother(also known as team)style)so use only chips of the particular elemnt...try and avoid using your buster at all costs...or you'll get a guts style...but use FireShot,Meteor,FireSide,etc.(this is for a fire style!!!) chips and you'll get it...oh and the thing to remember is patience...sorry it takes AWHILE to style change...I think thats why they got rid of them in recent games...oh and another thing if you want a bug style...just cause any bug in your navi cust and leave it that way(dont open your navicust up again from then on)until you style change...and personally I love the bug styles...because the only really annoying thing about it is that it often shuts down your buster so all you do is shoot a bouquet(spelled wrong be quiet everyone) of flowers,but the possible BENEFITS from the bug style,of and the navi cust programs you get frm leveling it up tottaly rock!!!

The styles are good, but bug style is one of the most difficult styles to master.
