How do I continue the ending of the Game? I gone too far to play new Game! Please Help!

Ive had this problem...1: make sure to hit start and click save on your PET Screen.2: If you beat the game already,(defeated Nebula Grey)hit continue anyways.Save Save Save all the time.(BTW there are no continue numbers but youll know cause youll have a protoman icon when you hit atrt at the screen.
