Well you guessed it Beta 1.5 us out! It will feature a new weather system with snow and rain and some other stuff. It also features achievements that can be unlocked by doing various things like eg. Killing 50 creepers(Made that one up.) Not sure if it's out tomorrow or today because I don't have my Minecraft PC with me.
Oh and I almost forgot... if a pig gets hit by lightning...it gets turned into a ZOMBIE PIGMAN! :D

The only challenge he added was that one. The rest are ridiculously simple tasks.
Not excited about this, to be honest. Notch needs to add something that changes the fundamentals of the game, and not just a bunch of features that don't affect the gameplay in any way. Minecraft has a ton of unexplored potential. The Nether, for example: sounds great, but why go there more than once? Minecraft needs that little something to make old-time players go back to it.
E: Just to clarify, I meant going back to the game itself, not the Nether.

New achievements will be added, I hope it will be better than the current ones. I'm a bit excited about the weather though.

^ This. The main thing that I enjoy that's pretty new are the wolves, and they still have some issues to work out. I don't feel like updating and losing all my mods just yet though.

If lighting hits a creeper, it gets electrified and will explode with a bigger force. :P

I've yet to see a Super Creeper or a Zombie pigman :P actually I've yet to see a thunderstorm.
Vid of a Super Creeper and zombie pigmen. They look like SS2 with their lightning aura/ I would sht myself at the sight of one. The zombie pigmen don't look that tough :/
