Minecraft is on it's way very soon.

So, I'm going to make a post about it and why it's become one of my favorite games of all time.

This game is a dream for me, the pixels, the blocks, and the creativity to make just about anything you can imagine. That itself to me is just mind blowing, giving me countless hours on this game. I remember when I first tried it out, I was just walking around in Classic placing blocks. Within a matter of seconds, I was hooked and I could not stop creating. Shortly after I created myself a account, which followed with me pre-ordering the game and playing the Beta.

I remember my first world, a huge desert that I got lost in. I wandered aimlessly until I built a cave. My first shelter, I felt excited. I anticipated that square sun to peak over the hills. When it did, I walked out my door. A Creeper exploded. Followed by another Creeper right afterwards. Then I fell off a cliff. Then I died. Surprisingly I got lost, desipte it was right next to the spawn. However, that wouldn't stop me. I built myself a small shelter! Then my game crashed and I lost it and all my materials. In a frenzy I punched trees and built a small house. This house would become my first home in Minecraft. Right then the peaceful blissful music of Minecraft started, and it was such a rush at a peaceful rate somehow.

It didn't take to long for my friends to catch on. I told my friends (and brother) and we all started playing. It was just so much fun, then I created a server and it was just one the greatest feelings I've felt from a game. So much that when we wanted to bump our server up, we tried many things. Eventually, I wound up pulling the cash out of my own pockets, with some help from my friends from time to time, to have a 24/7 server hosted by Servercraft. Occasionally bumping it up to hold more players, as word of mouth travels. It has been worth every cent so far.

That doesn't mean I haven't gotten frustrated. One time Minecraft.net kept going down and I couldn't play, or just technical things. However this is a Beta, so really am I allowed to complain? No, I just witness what I see and comment on it. (Okay, I complained. Sue me. Okay, not really. I'm a broke chump.)

As Minecraft went on, and I heard of it's release date coming up. I didn't feel it was complete, I didn't feel that this was a video game. Not finished enough to publish. The Adventure Update changed all of that, and right now me and a few of my friends are playing RC2 and leveling up and soon we will fight the Enderdragon.

All I can say is Minecraft feels like a classic. This is the same feeling I would get if I was back (and born, I wasn't born until shortly afterwards.) 1991 and I was playing the first Sonic The Hedgehog. I would feel like I'm playing a Classic. A game that will be remembered for ages to come. Minecraft is the first game of recently that I've ever felt this feeling with and it's great.

So fedora's off to you Notch and everyone at Mojang (and C418). You've created one of my favorite games ever.

Also, that image is from my first my first home in Minecraft. Ever since Beta 1.3_01. I still play on the world to this very day.

What about you guys? What are you thoughts on the game as it soon approaches release?

(That song would go perfect for the credits.)

I've been thinking the exact same thing these last couple of days...

20 years from now people will look back at Minecraft as a revolutionary game, one that defined a genre(I don't doubt that Minecraft will create a new sub-genre of sandbox games. There are already games such as Terraria that use the same concept.) And would they still say the same about, for example, MW3? No, and that's what makes Minecraft so special. I'm also proud of the fact that I can be part of it all. I can guarantee you that players like you and me, who had the game in development will be the minority in the near future.

There are some that said that Minecraft will never be finished. You proved them wrong. So I salute you Notch and hope your next venture will be just as successful and revolutionary.

Good God, I'm getting emotional here ;__;

I took what you said seriously, but since your status says "...In my pants." I lol'd at your emotional state. ;D

I highly doubt anyone will think highly of MW3. I'm not saying it's horrible, but it'll be grouped together with possibly "The FPS Generation" or something among those lines.
