Ive killed Lao Shan Lung and Ash Lao and Shen Gaoren, all have given ruststones.
3 Questions..
1.) is there an easier way to get them? ive been told the volcano, but i constantly mine every area, and get none. Does it matter what type of quest it is at volcano, day or night and guild or elder?
2.) Which will give more ruststones? Lao shan lung (Red), Ash Lao or Shen Gaoren?
3.) How do i get the decent rusted weapons other than getting stupid little 300z daggers that would be no use at HR1?

1) Do the 4* Elder Gathering quest, just do it over and over and only mine the spots in the dark red areas.
I got all the Ruststones from doing that.
2) Not sure, I never go after them for stones.

ok thanks i will try mine
EDIT: ok i got one, just a normal ruststone, and i use it and get a rapidcaster, which i dont want so i do that trick to get a diff weapon and it worked the first time and i got a shotgun (green) but then every time after that it always comes up as the shotgun (green)... why?

There is no reason, it is completly random.

so it could come up as a green shotgun 8 times in a row before it changes to something else?

Not nessessarily...
It took me over 40 tries to get the Rusted Sword (SnS Rust Weapon) after getting Hunter's Dagger and Iron Sword over and over.
Just keep trying, just try after every quest and you'll get it after awhile.
I got lucky and got Demonlock on the fist try =D

What is so good about demonlock and all thoese ruststone weapons?

the ruststone weapons SUCK!
get the ancient stone weapons
they give stuff like island of the gods and epitaph blade.
both are VERY RARE!
i learned the best way to do it is to
1 keep getting rust/ancient stones
2 put them in your bank
3 when you get like 10 make them
4 say the third one is the weatherd great sword.
then every 3 stones would be a good weeapon
whichever stone is a good weapon the number then is the amountuntil the next stone is a good one.
EXAMPLE u have 7 stones
1=iron striker
2=golem blade
3=island of the gods (good)
4=fin blade
5=red wing
6=weathered dual blades (good)
7=dark lance
