anyone can tell me where to get rathalos and rathian plate plz?

i need those things to upgrade my longsword but i didn't knw where to find those...I had killed rathalos and rathian for several times alrdy but i didn't get any plate from them +_+ i had cut off da tail, horns and break the sharp edge of their wings alrdy but there's no any plate i got in rewrd! Why? Is there any body prts of r.los/r.ian tht can be break other than the part i mention above? Plz..

Well, I just go kill a Silver Rathalos or Gold Rathian and get one from either a tail carve or the rewards everytime. If your not quite up to them then you should kill hard rank Rathalos/Rathian and try cutting the tail. Pet your pig before each quest as it gives you good luck. Just attempt cutting off the tail and carving it. Your not likely to get one in the rewards but that's probably your best bet.

You can get a plate in the rewards but it's actually more common in the tail.
