ds moshi game - wrong number moshling tally

Ds has counted 103 out of 104 moshlings collected. Thinks we have 1 egg to collect but when enter the nursery it tells us there are no babies left to find. We've checked and counted 4 moshlings and 4 eggs in each category so total can't be 103. Consequently we can't find the last moshling/egg and can't move on and our 7 year oLD doesn't play with it now after playing it constantly. Help please!!

in the packet of the game it gives you a code for nipper i used it on the game and it said the code had been used
