Some of you may have downloaded the new pokesav to get hopping on making those wonderful codes - But wait! There are no Johto locations!
Naturally project pokemon is working them in, but for the time being we're stuck with the version .03d that lacks the locations we need for legitimacy. However there is a partial solution. If you set your location to option 3002 (faraway place), you can then go to the right and edit the 46h hidden hex value to alter the location how you please. Leave EVERY OTHER hex value blank - They aren't necessary. (Unless 86h is necessary now, in HG/SS? Someone get back to me on that one) 7E - New Bark Town 7F - Cherrygrove City 80 - Violet City 81 - Azelia Town 82 - Cianwood City 83 - Goldenrod City 84 - Olivine City 85 - Ecruteak City 86 - Mahogany Town 87 - Lake of Rage 88 - Blackthorn City 89 - Silver Cave 8A - Pallet Town 8B - Viridian City 8C - Pewter City 8D - Cerulean City 8E - Lavender Town 8F - Vermillion City 90 - Celadon City 91 - Fuchsia City 92 - Cinnabar Island 93 - Indigo Plateau 94 - Route 1 95 - Route 2 96 - Route 3 97 - Route 4 98 - Route 5 9A - Route 6 9B - Route 7 9C - Route 8 9D - Route 9 9E - Route 10 9F - Route 11 A0 - Route 12 A1 - Route 13 A2 - Route 14 A3 - Route 15 A4 - Route 16 A5 - Route 17 A6 - Route 18 A7 - Route 19 A8 - Route 20 A9 - Route 21 AA - Route 22 AB - Route 23 AC - Route 24 AD - Route 25 AE - Route 26 AF - Route 27 B0 - Route 28 B1 - Route 29 B2 - Route 30 B3 - Route 31 B4 - Route 32 B5 - Route 33 B6 - Route 34 B7 - Route 35 B8 - Route 36 B9 - Route 37 BA - Route 38 BB - Route 39 BC - Route 40 BD - Route 41 BE - Route 42 BF - Route 43 C0 - Route 44 C1 - Route 45 C2 - Route 46 C3 - Route 47 C4 - Route 48 C5 - Diglett Cave C6 - Mt. Moon C7 - Cerulean Cave C8 - Rock Tunnel C9 - Power Plant CA - Safari Zone CB - Seafoam Islands CC - Sprout Tower CD - Tin Tower CE - Burnt Tower CF - National Park D0 - Radio Tower D1 - Ruins of Alph D2 - Union Cave D3 - Slowpoke Well D4 - Lighthouse D5 - Rocket Hideout (Mahogany Town) D6 - Ilex Forest D7 - Goldenrod Underground D8 - Mt. Mortar D9 - Ice Path DA - Whirl Islands (Lugia's Chamber) DB - Silver Mountain Cave DC - Dark Cave DD - Victory Road DE - Dragon's Den DF - Tohjo Falls E0 - Viridian Forest E1 - Pokéthlon Dome E2 - S.S. Aqua E3 - Safari Zone Gate E4 - Cliff Cave E5 - Frontier Front E6 - Path to Tin Tower E7 - Shinto Ruins E8 - Hidden Tower E9 - Pokéwalker EA - Cliffs Gate Another note: These are for pokemon that DID NOT HATCH FROM AN EGG ONLY. If you try to do this with a pokemon in an egg or that hatched from an egg, it will not work and you could end up with a hurt game. In the event that 86h is necessary, here are the values for it. 86h is used in HG and SS to determine the pokeball a pokemon was captured in. Values with *'s indicate that on the pokesav editor, the pokeball area should be set to a normal pokeball. Setting that slot to any apricorn ball in version .03d WILL hurt your game when the code is activated. otherwise, correspond the pokeball slot to your 86h value. 01 = Master Ball 02 = Ultra Ball 03 = Great Ball 04 = Poke Ball 05 = Safari Ball 06 = Net Ball 07 = Dive Ball 08 = Nest Ball 09 = Repeat Ball 0A = Timer Ball 0B = Luxury Ball 0C = Premier Ball 0D = Dusk Ball 0E = Heal Ball 0F = Quick Ball 10 = Cherish Ball 11 = Fast Ball* 12 = Level Ball* 13 = Lure Ball* 14 = Heavy Ball* 15 = Lovely Ball* 16 = Friend Ball* 17 = Moon Ball* « Last edited by Austinanymous on Mar 18th 2010 » "i once killed an antelope, you should come over for dinner"

This is actually very helpful, thanks. I had this problem when making a Gliscor, it was the one thing stopping it from looking truly legitimate.

No problem. Though I looked over what I have and I think I'm missing a few locations, such as Saffron... If you or anyone else come across a location not listed, post it here and I'll be glad to throw it in. (Saffron is kind of necessary to make legitimate Hoenn starters, too ><)

No, Pokesav for Heart Gold and Soul Silver has already been released by Project Pokemon. However, there are some flaws in it - namely that there are no Johto or Kanto locations programmed into it as of yet. This is to help you fix that problem.

So, as of now, you cannot legitimately do a Pokesav'd Pokemon Hatheched from an Egg?

In HG and SS, no, Not at the moment. I kind of know how to use hex values to pokesav and egg pokemon, but I've never tried it myself, nor do I really know how to explain it.
I also don't have the identification numbers of the locations in the game, which are necessary to translate them into hex. The best I can hope is that the Hex I've already found is the same in the instance of the eggs. "i once killed an antelope, you should come over for dinner"

There will be a new version out once they fix it up with the new locations, assuming they do. I really don't want to deal with hex for the entire existence of HG and SS, but I will if I have to. xD
But yeah, if I see a new version come out, I'll post to let you guys know. "i once killed an antelope, you should come over for dinner"

Ok I don't understand how you people "find" hack's and such. I know I sound like a total idiot when it come's to this AR stuff lol. Could someone explain what the pokesav is and what the original post means because I'm a little confused. I'm not trying to spam this thread up either I'm just really curious.

Pokesav is a windows application that allows you to create action replay codes. There are, of course limitations. Pokesav can be downloaded here. This thread is to help people using the newest version of pokesav, for Heart Gold and Soul Silver. The locations in their respective version of pokesav are lacking in Kanto and Johto locations. Instead it uses Sinnoh locations. There is an area of pokesav with hidden hex values you can edit - If you do so correctly, you can make pokesav work with you and register the kanto/johto locations.
Really, I'm not too great at explaining this... xD It would be better done through video. "i once killed an antelope, you should come over for dinner"

Is there a way to get the Pokémon to be recognized as caught by you? Meaning no "apparently met at" bs.

Your secret ID is an entirely seperate ID number that identifies pokemon as yours.
To get your secret ID; Enter this code into your action replay. 94000130 fff30000 b2111880 00000000 da000000 00000086 d6000000 00000088 d2000000 00000000 Then press start and Select, look at your money, and that's your secret ID. If it's only four digits, the first digit is a 0. The secret ID part of pokesav is directly underneath ID everywhere applicable. « Last edited by Austinanymous on Mar 26th 2010 » "i once killed an antelope, you should come over for dinner"
