Game title

Might as well get this forum going.

With this latest bit of information on the game being released, I find myself thinking that Nintendo is running out if ideas. Mainly those ideas being names for games. Through the past decade is it? Nintendo has been making games with names of elements. Now they seem to be returning to their roots. Colors seem to be all they have left. Does anyone other than me find the names a bit... off? Just that they could have picked something less dull than Black?

Yeah the name seems dull. They really could have done better for a name. Could of used something like Pokemon Night or something. I think Nintendo is just to lazy to put a lot of thought into it.

The dullest color chromatically is neutral gray, actually

At least these names are better than HeartGold and SoulSilver...

At least it makes it easy to predict the future. Every time a new Pokemon game comes out, they're split into 3s. First they release two, then combine them in the 3rd. Examples being:
Ruby + Sapphire = Emerald
Diamond + Pearl = Platinum
You know that Black + White is going to = Gray.

The names are going to get worse from here. =/

You forgot Red + Blue = Yellow. I'm guessing since the first games started with colors, they thought they could go back to that. Still they could of done a lot better.

Feelings that Pokemon is coming to an end? Finish where you started, I guess.

I really hope not and it seems unlikely. They were probably just to lazy to come up with a good name. Lets hope the game itself won't be as bad as the names.

Besides, when I think of carbon allotropes and crystallized lime put together, I don't think of noble metals.

Yeah, you are. I'm going to get very sick of hearing the race card come up every time someone mentions this game.

It's impossible for Nintendo to start over because their Pokemon are starting to look more like Digimon. :|

No, I love the names. These are probably two of the best unused names they could've came up with. Simple, yet elegant. I just hope these games don't take place in the past or are the end. But I doubt Pokemon will end for a while as long as it keeps printin' Nintendo money.

And people who say the names will suck from here on out; who cares? As long as the games themselves are good, what does it matter what they're called? Call Gen VI Pokemon Cheese & Crackers for all I care! There are still some pretty good unused names if you ask me, such as:

Orange
Purple
Crimson
Cobalt
Violet
Scarlet
Rose
Brown
Jade
Topaz
Quartz
Gray (even though we all pretty much know when this one will be used ^__^)

And that's to name a few. All I'm sayin' is that there are still good possibilities out there.

And I hope there aren't a bunch of idiots who play the race card. They're colors, they've been colors much longer than they've been racial labels.

Cobalt & Crimson would be good names, imo. Although they don't have anything in common, do they...?

I don't mind the names at all, but I was suprised they didn't use Topaz or Quartz yet since those have been suggestions for years.

I'm not too worried about the names. Ever noticed that the name always has something to do with the games exclusive legendary?

Eg - Emerald - Rayquaza
Diamond - Dialga
Silver - Lugia

...And the list goes on.

IMO a pure white and a pure black legendary sound fu[b][/b]cking awesome! And they've made awesome grey Pokemon, so why worry about the name?

Pokemon aside, its the game I'm not really looking forward too. Unless Nintendo put their arses into gear and start USING those billions of dollars, Im not going to buy Black/White. Every game has one or two minor changes that are a little bit exciting for 5 minutes. Then you get bored and kick yourself for realizing you just blew $40+ on the same general game.

In general, I WANT them to start over so we have more than just a different colored Poke-tech and a few useless mini-games to look forward to. And I'm not just saying that because I blew $400 on a DSi+Pokemon Platinum pack!

I was actually expecting Topaz and Jade.
And the third version would be Opal or Quartz.

But I guess Black and White are fine, too. I don't mind the names, tbh.

The names may sound old-skool (Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold), but the name doesn't really bother me.

Nintendo also uses names of minerals. (Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl)

What about types of metal? (Platinum)
