I think they should be used in a combo but if I had to choose one it would be Umbreon (sorry ED_)

I always found them useful as a pair, but Espy is stronger overall. Umbreon can stand attacks longer, but Umby can't attack so well. Espeon sweeps Pokemon out of the way in one turn, even if its Defence is a bit iffy.

If only Umbreon could learn Follow Me then he'd get attacked and leave Espeon to do the attacking. I look at things from a defensive standpoint thats why I chose Umbreon
