I bought my son a used Crystal game. He isn't able to access his menu. Whenever he presses "start" in order to bring up the menu, he gets a message telling hime that he can register an item by using the "select" button. So, he can't even teach his Pokemon "cut". What can I do to cure this problem? Any suggestions?

It must be his GameBoy system then. Are you sure he's pressin' "start" an' not "select"? If he truly is pressin' "start" then the wires in his GB mgiht not be connected right. Has he been able to use "start successfully in other games he has?
