How to solve this...? The game completely restarts/initialize after credits.... What to do, to play ahead??

I beated Elite 4, and Gary too... Then me & my pokemon were entered in the Hall of Fame by Oak.... Then the credits started to roll.... Then Game completely restarted from the very first screen of Fire-Red cover. Oak came on the screen asking me to enter my name again..... Then i found myself at pallet town.... The game completely restarted & all my Pokemons were lost....I want to goto Sevii Islands.... But the game completely restarts....... Can anyone tell me.... I play this game on VisualBoy Advance in my PC.. Plz help!!!

This normmally happens when you play this game on a PC.
I believe that there is File that you must download in order to continue playing after the Elite Four.
I think I found it once by simply using a search engine (Google or Ask).
