Legit. If you win with hacked pokemon you don't feel right because you know you hacked but if you win with legit pokemon you feel a good feeling because you know you trained them on your own it is ALL your pokemon exp that you gained, not made by a GameShark or ActionReplay.

but what about pokemon that are so hard to get it makes you pull out your hair? like celebi and jirachi for example...is it considered okay to get them through cheats just because they are so difficult to get? Also...is it just as wrong/okay to use cheats to get through barriers which you normally wouldnt be able to get through to obtain rare pokemon?

Still counted as legit. If your asking what I think you are, then that's fine. People can use their AR/Gamesharks to obtain the Pokemon, then train them legitimately. You still put all the effort of training them in, and they still have to work with their preset limitations. While the Pokemon itself may not be legit, the training is. This does, of course, assume you didn't hack moves/abilities onto the Pokemon that they shouldn't have. "We are men of action, lies do not become us." - Westley

okay so what if someone uses a cheat to get to the pokemon... the pokemon itself is considered legit right...but the means to getting it arent? or is it just considered not legit.

If you're asking for the SC tournament that's coming up, you'd be better off asking Kimmy, honestly. I'd consider it legit, but others may disagree with that.

In that case, it really is up to you. I have a couple of legends I got from an AR, but I still consider them "legit", as I didn't give them any illegal moves/abilities.

If the pokemon keeps it's species limitations, this is what is known as a Legal Hack in the competetive scene. They are hacked, but if you were to use them in official Nintendo Tourneys, and as long as the back isn't outside the limitations of the pokemon (or silly stuff like caught in a different area to where it is normally found/legendary from egg [or it's in a Pokeball it shouldn't be in) they can't pull you up on it. I know from personal experiance from the tourney I went to a few month back. It's too much of a hastle to get Pokemon with perfect IVs, optimal Natures, specific egg moves that are extremely tedious to get, waste too much time EV training... etc etc « Last edited by Jirachi X on Oct 18th 2011 » I'm gone - bye
