It's not possible coz the way I do it in Gold/Silver/Crystal is'nt possible anymore.

i think my bro can duplicate in ruby but he cant remember i think you trade and turn off wen it is saving but idk

what game do you want to know the cheat for...
i can tell you for this game anyways...
have the pokemon you want to duplicate in your party (you can give it an item if you want that duplicated too...)
now once you have that, go to any pokemon centre p.c, and save it before you click on the p.c
now go to deposit and deposit the pokemon you want duplicated...
now change to any empty box, and while it says "savong to not turn off the power" turn off the power
turn the game back on, one of your duplicated pokemon will be in your party, and the other in your p.c

yes, its best not to use rare candies, but sacred ash is damn useful
though you cant use it in two player battle

because you cant go to your items list when battling, otherwise people would just bring in 99+ max revives and stuff...
and if you put it on a pokemon it wouldnt do anything because its not a auto-activated item...

It helped me in my old gold version when I had Pokemon in the late 30's and early 40's. I used it right before Lance.
