Hyper Beam is a nice finishing move, or last resort.

if you use it as a finishing move then youll still have to wait for a turn vs the next pokemon
and a better last resort would be explosion

Explosion is a good move, but not many can learn it. It's a TM in Red and Blue so you can trade a Pokemon back to be taught Explosion. Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and other good TM's disappeared for some reason in Gold and Silver.... Shouldn't they have just added more?

yeah there should have been 100tms, but then the game would be too easy, they want you too trade see, because then you have to buy all the games, and they earn more money...

...And that is why you can't beat the game by yourself.

yes, thats why they dont make a game with all 380 something pokemon and all three regions, they make more money if you have to buy two games instead of one...

I have Silver version and Blue version now. I used to have Red, Yellow, Gold, and Crystal, too. I think that Red and Blue were much better than the others, disregarding graphics and sound, but Silver, Gold, and Crystal are much easier to get around in.

Are the newer versions any good?

Yeh man, thier freakin awsome, but my favorite one is Pokemon Crystal.

sapphire is really good, but dont bother getting fr/lg, theyre boring, nothing new really

Mewtwo is not the most powerful pokemon in the world! Mew is just as powerful when raised right(in other words, NO HM's. That only makes it weaker).

NO SINGLE POKEMON IS THE STRONGEST/BEST!!! One Pokemon can always beat some other Pokemon.

G MASTER, Mew isn't as powerful as Mewtwo. Mewtwo (according to the movies and Pokedex data) was genetically engineered from Mew's DNA. They added quite a bit of power in the process, and as a result, couldn't control it (go to the old Pokemon Lab in Red or Blue and read the journals. Even those prove it). Mew is thought to be the first Pokemon or the father of all Pokemon by some people, but that doesn't mean it has more power or anything. For example, Celebi (in the game) is very weak, as it has two types that can be taken advantage of. I have used Gameshark before to catch Mew, and I can tell you from experience it is not as powerful as people make it out to be. Don't take me as someone out to criticize whoever I can - I just want to explain my opinion and what I know to be fact.

um, mews no way near a s good as mewtwo, but just because of the fact he cant learn recover, celebi is exactly the same as mew, and jirachi also

it is true no pokemon is better than all the others, and i dont think they will ever make a pokemon like that, because it would be unfair

It's not correct that Mew gave birth to Mewtwo, unless they mean that they cloned it, like the movie.

By the way, how many times are actual countries/places in Red and Blue mentioned? I know of three: LT. Surge The Lightning American, A Rocket in the Silph building mentions being in Russia, and the journals say Mew was found in South America. Anyone know any others?

mew is the good side and mewtwo the bad side, everyone knows the bad guys are always stronger, but the good guys use technique to win the battle, unfortunately, mew has been made out to be an all out attack pokemon, and you cant beat a person in an arm wrestle if they are stonger than you, if someone used technique on mew though, im sure it could beat mewtwo, its a tug of war, no one will know whos stronger

I had a Mew with:

Softboiled
Psychic
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

But that was a long time ago.

The only thing they added to Mewtwo's power was speed and special. Mew is better in atttack and defence. And there is no proof that Mewtwo is better than Mew other than the word of Mewtwo and the head scientist.
The journals are about Mews discovory, and Mewtwos creation. You can't asume Mewtwo is better off the last part of that.

My Mew beat Mewtwo at level 50 with these attacks:

Mega Punch
Psychic
Teansform
Thunder Wave

I'm not Saing Mew is stronger than Mewtwo. I'm saying There almost a perfect match.

Like with what die_zombie said, Mew has strategy, and Mewtwo has power....
