beat golden rod gym,go to the house near the back of it,and go in. talk to the lady on the right she gives you a pale go to tree save game and water it.youre welcome

you go past the guy who won't let you by until you beat the gym and follow the trail til you find a cave. Find a guy who after the battle says," It's my poke'mon that light up this cave, go down past him and you'll be out of the cave. Go through the town ahead and you'll find a forest through a building (you need to know CUT)when you come to the fork in the road go up. CUT the tree find your way to the town and when you find the town by the super tall building(MART)GO PAST IT. Look for two SMALL houses and in one of them you'll get a SQUIRT BOTTLE use it on the tree and you'llbe able to battle an catch him
