yeah thats true, i think it would struggle against articuno and mew, but its true...

Mewtwo would be my choice for a legendary Pokemon in battle. It can learn Ice Beam and Thunderbolt from Red and Blue, which can be surprising to opponents.

Here are some interesting things I have done recently.

Using Blue version, I taught Snorlax Selfdestruct and traded it to Silver.

Traded a Level 100 Cloyster from Blue to Silver with the following stats/moves.
Attack: 196 Defense: 393 Spcl. Attack: 191 Spcl Defense: 111 Speed: 146
Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, Surf, and Blizzard.
This kind of defense is rare in common Pokemon.

yeah, closter has high defense, but it lacks sp.df and speed

but the best pokemon in defense is shuckle probably, and then steelix

I was surprised to see a Pokemon from Blue with almost 400 Defense, without using iron.

Mew is weak, and the only reason it is any good is because it can learn anything. Without that, Mew's only good move would be useless against Tyranitar.

Jumpluff is fast, and it was most likely at a high level.

jumpluff is faster than the dogs at level 40 and it can use sleep powder, the only bad thing about it is that entei is super effective...but, yes, i caught the dogs with jumpluff

I don't remember how I caught them before my Silver got deleted, and I haven't seen them in my new one yet. Misdreavus is useful for catching them because it isn't weak against them and can prevent them from escaping, and put them to sleep. Then switch to Scyther and use False Swipe. That's the easy way...

mean look stops its effect once you change pokemon, be aware of that, and the dogs can also use roar to get away, be aware of that also...

Haunter was my choice to catch the legandary dogs with.
And Mews better than how you make it sound TyRaNiTaR. Unless you get the secound and third move and have an attack that can knock out your own pokemon, Mew dosen't need it's strongest attack to win.

mew can use earthquake vs tyranitar, that would be the best option
