What team do you plan to have?

Post the team you plan on having here.

Mine will probably be:

Typhlosion
Quagsire
Alakazam (if he's as awesome as he used to be)
Machamp
Gengar
Ampharos

That was my 'classic' team, back when I had two working versions of the game, neither of which were Crystal. Unfortunately, since I only have Crystal, Ampharos is gone completely, and as I can't trade I use Kadabra and Machoke instead, which are good enough. Gengar is also gone, but since Haunter sucks (he can't learn the elemental punches unless he's Gengar) I don't even bother catching a Gastly. It would be brilliant if I could get the classic line-up again.

And before you ask why no legendaries are in my team, it's because they grow far too slowly and I hate using them anyway.

As I have said on Bulbapedia's forums and Serebii's as well, I think people should be picking teams after the Wild Pokemon lineup is out.

The only ones that I know of that I will be getting is:

Typhlosion
Pigdeot (Only because they would have to have him in the game)

I dunno really, it depends on what I see/catch & need.

Having a feraligatr, ampharos, Hitmontop and Espeon is important to me. I'll look into an actual TEAM later.

I may have one as it is, though.

InvertAlpha - FR and LG and the same wild line-ups as R/B/Y, or very similar. Why would HG and SS be any different.

What's the whole deal with people choosing Pidgeot? He's mediocre at best. Go for Fearow - much better (or better still, Dodrio).

I always get the main bird pokemon.

I might add/replace things as I go on, but that's what its looking like. I might go with Ampharos and Typhlosion until I beat Morty, then add Hitmontop and Slowking around the same time. I don't want to deal with a Slowpoke for that long of a time, and I don't remember what you need to get through Mt. Mortar.

You don't get Tyrouge until after you go to Kanto.

I'm almost 99% sure that it's in Mt. Mortar. Also, Bulbapedia says you need Waterfall to get him.. Hopefully you can get him without it in HG/SS. If not, then I don't know what I'll use in the fourth slot. Not to mention I'll be incredibly angry; Hitmontop is awesome.

Didn't some guy give you the Tyrogue in Mt. Mortar...?

02 Dissociative - STAB Earthquake, plus his dual typing is excellent. He has a wide movepool, and decent (not brilliant or anything, but decent) stats. He is also the only good Water-type you can get for quite some time, with the exception of Tentacruel, who I also love but find he grows too slowly, whilst Quagsire grows at an average pace. He is also very effective against the majority of the gym leaders, you can easily get a good moveset on him and he works wonders against the Elite Four (I entered the Elite Four with all pokemon at the same level, and when I became Champion Quagsire had grown by the most levels). I could go on, but I've given enough reasons. Sure, Swampert is even better (because he evolves more than once), but Quagsire is the original Water/Ground type. I really like Swampert too, though.

Traffic Monger - Yes, Tyrogue is given to you in Mt. Mortar. I always thought Hitmonlee was the most prominent of the Hitmon family, though.

gangstagirl - If you don't mind me asking, why Bellossom? I know you can't get a Vileplume until ridiculously late in the game (which is when the Leaf Stone is finally available, although hopefully the remake will change that), but I'm curious. I never found Bellossom to be any good, myself.

If I recall correctly, then my last team on Crystal version before its sad destruction, was a Rhydon, Tyranitar, Ampharos, Typhlosion, Alakazam, and Kingdra. I used to play around with them excessively to the point where I got them all up to Lv 100 simply by fighting the Elite Four + Champion. I think I had at least 300 victories, or more in the Hall of Fame. So I can't give specifics. This was just off what I remembered.

As for me getting this time around..

That's my plan for right now. Unless I can find something new to put in place of Blissey. Then I can always go get that Tyrogue as You stated in your post Volke. Funny thing for me was mine always evolved into Hitmontop instead of Chan/Lee. I mean yes Hitmonlee is offensive, and chan is defensive, but I like to have both balanced. =D

He's in Johto, but you need to go to Kanto first.
