Staryu/Starmie question

You know when you fight against/with a Staryu/Starmie, they sometimes "Blink"? What does that mean?

It's due to their ability "Illuminate."

any chance of telling what illuminate does?

In the other Pok�mon games, it increased the chance of encountering wild Pok�mon. In Mystery Dungeon, I can only assume that whenever a Staryu, Starmie, Volbeat, Chinchou, Lanturn, or any other Pok�mon with the Illimunate ability blinks, it attracts wild Pok�mon to it.

Well, I just looked it up...everytime they blink, another random Pokemon appears in the dungeon somewhere. Thanks for answering!

I don't really understand how that helps you when you're fighting other Pokemon with a Starmie, but ok.

It doesn't persay. It's one of those abilities that could help you or hurt you, depending on how you look at it. You may want to battle more Wild Pok�mon than there are, so Illuminate would help in that case. If you don't want to battle, however, then it's a problem. I call it a neutral ability, much like Kecleon's Color Change, since it can help or hurt, depending on the situation.
