You cannot get Mewtwo in Time. Mewtwo is only available for recruitment in Darkness.
May make random appearances every-so-often. Trying to officially return...

Wait a minute...I think that once you beat the team your friend sends you, they might post a job request. That could be your ticket to recruiting him. Nintendo hasen't yet made a game where even one thing was inaccesible. You just have to look hard enough.

That was proven wrong. Apparently, Legendaries cannot be have jobs on either boards, meaning that until Nintendo decides to create a Mewtwo code for Time and a Celebi code for Darkness, they remain version exclusive.

Unfortunately, however, legendaries cannot be clients nor can they be targets. I know this from practice.

It's not only legendary Pokemon cannot be client/target. Several others such as Kecleon are also forbidden from WM.

And yes, that's the code for mission of rescuing Mewtwo, on first slot in left Bulletin Board at the guide. I think you have to turn off the code to activate the mission (or maybe not). After doing the mission Mewtwo will appear at 6F Dark Crater when you have Secret Slab/Mystery Part in your Treasure Box. Don't anyone ask about recruiting Mewtwo mission b/c it's an invalid mission and will not be accepted by the game
