best starting offf pokemon and partner

it doesnt matter what type is your partner or what type you are, if your good, you can beat the game easily

I'm with the last person, it doesn't matter as long as you kick donkey. I'd have fun with it, I got Machop and I picked Torchic, and I did fine with those two. Machop is amazing when you link his Leer attack wit anything, or my fav Karate Chop wit Focus energy. Keep Special Attack pokemon at higher levels, and let the Attack pokemon link a physical move wit Leer or something and train. Train, grasshopper, train.

i think that cubone and pikachu is a good combo so that you can dominate the birds, and destroy groudon and also raquayza. they are a great choice.

i have an eevee, and my partner is now a quilava....my biggest problem was going through the sky tower, and that was about it. before that, i had a skitty and cyndaquil (i love fire types)eevee is great, though, for after you beat the game...if you get a grass type partner, you can evolve into a fire or water....or you can get a fire partner and evolve into a water type and recruit a grass type

I had cubone and pikachu the toughest opponent I faced was aeradactyl but if you teach cubone ice beam the game is almost too easy

I have a cubone lvl 39 and a totodile lvl 38

I love Mudkip cuz of the 1 weakness to grass thing. I got mudkip as my starter and bulbasaur as my partner. I know probably should have gotten a fire type to keep those grass types off but i just love bulbasaur. Id suggest bulbasaur or charmander as your partner.

Charmander perks: -Fire is good to kill grass with (swamperts 1 weakness)
-Charizards eventual electric weakness is smothered with swamperts ground typing

Bulbasaur perks: -Also can use poison moves to kill grass with (swamperts 1 weakness)
-Immune to leech seed (good for grass countering)
-Mudslap Leechseed combo in the beginning really kicks ***!

Anyway, just restarted my game and felt i should throw in my two cents

charmander and pikachu

If you start with cubone you chould teach him ice beam, first
for groudon (2x), and after groudon also raquaiza (4x) because
you otherwise won't get past them easy, especially if you have
pikachu as partner (what wasn't a smart choice from the start).

I got a machop and bulbasaur no problems encountered

Well I got a chicarita and pikachu half my data was erased and I had richu and megation and a moltris but now I have megation, pikachu, and articuno.

On a new game I have eevee and mudkip there kinda okay. but it was a bad choice

one more thing this is kind of a spoiler but when you get in solar cave F9 you should see a key go to F10 and find a white door. Unlock it and if you lost dive, it will be there!

P.S. you can get waterfall in F20 with the key too.

Cubone and Squirtle destroyed any pokemon in there path, weaknesses, dragon types, but squirtle can learn ice beam, and cubone can learn brick break, paired with the link moves Focus Energy and Bone rush as well as bonemerang. Say good bye to any opposing pokemon

I use treecko with a partner of pikachu

I am a cyndiquil and my partner is a pikachu. Cyndiquil (or any other fire-type ) will be good at the beginning because most of the dunguns are woods . They may, however, be a pain later on when you encounter Mt.Blaze and Magma Caveren because of the fire-type pokemon. Also note in Magma Caveren there are many rock and ground-type pokemon, which are a REAL pain for fire-type pokemon.:-( .

i have skitty as my starter and pikachu as my partner. skitty is quite strong since it doesn't have any particular weakness among the legendaries and you can teach it with other moves (i.e. ice beam, shockwave)and assist is extremely helpful against the legendaries. i beat the game when i i'm still below lvl 28. i liked pikachu as my partner 'cause it can learn agility and thunderbolt (helpful against those pesky ghost-types in sky tower).

Cubone is the best for me he has great attacks and is fun to use never died with him and pikachu
