Starter: Chikorita \ Partner: Torchic
Both of them are great! My Chikorita is now on level 83 and my Torchic is at level 78{ real starters}. I am now in Dark Crater { no cheats}.

Mine is pikachu(by far the coolest Pokemon, in MY opinion. Not sure about anyone else though)
Partner is torchic.
I've pwned every legendary we have gone up against so far, though I've only gotten up to kyogre so far. The hardest was groudon, but you can probably already guess why.
