Ok, heres some more facts. The x1 catch rate a pokeball has mean the pokemon's catch rate will stay the same. So a x4 will multiply times 4. The pokemons catch rate is somewhere between 3 and I think 255(someone correct me if wrong).Ex.I think Palkia has a catch rate of 45/255(high for a legend) a pokeball will give you 45 out of 255, not sure what the percent is but that is it. A dusk ball(when dark) will give you 180 out of 255 chance. Now, as you weaken a pokemon, the base catch rate I think will go up. So, this is why I use duskballs at night, timerballs for long battles, and quickballs for right away.
P.S. Not sure on all the info, but it has the general idea.

The catch rate is the same as a pokeball, so I would never use it, I don't do style, just catch it

My favorite is the Dusk Ball. This is for one fact only, most legendaries are in a cave of some sort. Palkia, Heatran, Giratina, Arceus, Regigas. Heck, I caught Darkrai with a Dusk Ball. He wasn't even in a cave. As long as it is in a dark place, a dusk ball will work almost all the time eventually after five or six times of trying it.

i like the luxery balls look the best but as for catching it all depends on the situation i am in.
