Is it Possible to catch a Charmander in Platinum?

You can't catch one in the wild. You have to either choose it as your starter or have it in a different game and breed it with Ditto, then trade it to Platinum to get it.

I found Charmander in pokemon Platinum on route 204... I was so confused myself as well...

no, unless you migrate it. but in your case, you had the AR inserted. so it would be possible.

if you have fire red or leaf green migrate it and catch it in the pal park

My bro found a bulbasaur lv.20 on route 205 without cheating but back then he did have a ar but it wasn't in. He restarted his game but no more bulbasaur weird so if you really can't take this which 99.99999999% you probably can restart your game check it out. But NOT POSAIBLE WITH OUT CHEAT dude

but one thing you can choose charmander,squirtle or bulbasaur in soulsilver after you beat red which is on the top os mt silver in both games in soulsilver and heartgold

the only games you can get charmander in are yellow across nugget bridge talk to person beside rock i think then red or blue then leafgreen or firered

Yes, you can get a charmander. After a certain point in the game, after obtaining the National Dex and beating the elite four you can get a 1st gen starter after talking to Professor Oak the three locations are as follows: Bulbasaur - Twinleaf Town
Charmander - Floaroma Yown
Squirtle - Twin Leaf Town
From what I read they are all level one. Haven't tested this yet but will post when I do.

My blue Psyduck is pretty awesome. ***** to catch, but well worth it.
