Missingno. Effects!

I'm sorry, I wasn't even trying to bump it, I was posting up an effect I know that I wanted the good public to know.

No, 'M is a different Pokemon that looks the same. When you find 'M it will say wild 'M appeared and when you find MissingNo. it will say wild MissingNo. appeared they have different effects when you catch them.

True, but they are still the same pokmon they just do different things.

I heard that if you catch MissingNo(not 'M)you can turn it into what ever you want buy nicknamong it that pokemon

ex:you can catch it, call it Ditto,and you have a ditto!


Is that true?

I have caught both ALOT of times and all it did was

1. When you look at it it messes up the battle graphics..(can be fixed by looking at a normal pokemon's stats)
2. Messed up my hall of fame...(WHICH WAS REALLY COOL!!!!!!!)
3. Sometimes made the trainer on your trainer card look REALLY weird...(WOAH, I COULD SEE GRAPHICS FROM LINK BATTLES IN THAT SCREWED PICTURE!!!)
And thats it.... and if you use gameshark codes to catch other glitch pokemon, they might damage your game SOOO much that you cant even play it.

**M** or missigno can do the following things:

1. mess up ur hall of fame with random graphics and symbols.
2. change the pictures in battles (make it all pixelated and wacky)
3. can play weird music
4. can evolve into kangaskahn
5. in some RARE cases, can crash ur entire game, or even wreck the cartridge. but this is very rare

so, i guess its up to you whether you should get it or not.

i caught a missingo. and i saved and turned off, i went back on and it said

"Game Data Has Been Destroyed"

and i read about it on a site that missingo. and -M- are really programmers attempts to create themselves as a pok�mon which failed miserably. my advice is, DO NOT CATCH A MISSINGO. OR AN -M-

Well, I don't know if this is related, but I sometimes find that if I've done the Missingno Duplication trick or caught it, then I go to Pokemon Stadium (either) and go to its Trade machine, sometimes I find a hidden box that contains either Rare Pokemon (like Ditto, Chansey, etc.) or Pokemon that have weird attacks that it normally cannot learn. As far as I know, those Pokemon don't mess up the save, but if you don't move those Pokemon to an existing Box, they disappear. For example, I traded some of the Pokemon to my Crystal version, and now I've got a Kangaskhan that knows Doubleslap, Dream Eater, Karate Chop, and Razor Leaf. Also a Cloyster with Stomp and Seismic Toss. (True story)

It's kinda cool to have Pokemon use moves it doesn't know, but be careful when you do this, because I only just discovered this and I don't know yet if there are any harmful effects.


Also regarding Missingno, from personal experience, I've found that catching the M that is Lv. 0 is very bad for the game because you will never be able to check its stats or anything, if you do, it will freeze or crash. So whatever you do, just don't catch LV. 0 Missingno at all. And I've caught LV 80 a few times and every time, it has never messed up my game. Still it is a risk, but it's always funny to see Kangaskhan useFly and the look on my opponent's face is priceless.

--M-- or also referred to as: **M** Is the one that will destroy your game, but this isn't inevitable, it may not.

Catching missingno is harmless nearly every time, and just screws with your hall of fame and the game music and pictures.

Yeah, **M** should be avoided. Although I caught a MissingNo and it has never done anything to my game. No Hall of Fame mishaps, no music mishaps. Nothing got all pixelated, either. But battle with a MissingNo. in Glitch City and see what happens ;).

i caught several missingos, and only one screwed my game up a little, all it did was mess a bit wit the music

It can also make the pokemon all retarded in battle... if it happens to you, you'll see what I mean. It's really screwed up...
