Hi, I am new here and i have what may seem to many like a stupid question so have some sympathy. I have a game shark that i originally got with my pokemon crystal game, so the game shark came out with the second generation series. So my question is would i be able to use that game shark with the pokemon ruby game if i have the right codes?

No because like you said; it was for Pokémon Crystal, which is a 2nd generation game, in which was made and developed on Game Boy[Color]... Pokémon Ruby is on Game Boy Advance, you will need a Game Shark made for Game Boy Advance instead.

Huh i hae a gameshark and i though it could do all gameboy games i didnt know there were separted.
