The Worst Starter

i dont remember now it was a while ago!

We base whether a Pokemon is good or not by how useful it is on a team. Every Pokemon can be beat, so if you're saying that Charizard and Venusaur are bad because Blastoise can beat them(not true), then you might as well be saying that every Pokemon sucks.

no, im just saying in my opinion he's the best of the three to pick,since throughout the game you need a water pokemon

You don't NEED one. I get through the game just fine without one. Besides, there's always Cloyster, Starmie, and Lapras to choose from, all of which are better than Blastoise.

Frankly, you'd be better off using Tentacrule in your team over Blastoise...

I've also found that Manaphy is good, especially since he starts at level 1 and his stats sky rocket after every level up.

Back to the Starters... The guys in the bottom of the barrel are Blastoise, Magnium, and Faraligator (Johto's starters were REALLY pathetic... other than Typhlosion who's pretty good)

Indeed, and Infernape will probably sprout from them somewhere. I'm not too familiar with the D/P starters yet so I can't say with full accuracy...but Turtwig is definately the best of them.

Although Piplup ain't bad either

Piplup will prolly be the worst, since he barely gets any good moves to complimet his godly SAtk stats when he is Empoleon (Surf and Ice Beam are the only ones worth using, and he has nothing to raise SAtk)

RBY = Blastoise
GSC = Meganium
RSE = Blaziken
DP? = Empoleon

True, but his great mix of types that could end up good for him.

Gold-Crys-Silv: cindaquille
Ruby-Sapph: Torchic
D/P: Never played.

I haven't played D/P either, but I know that either Empoleon or the flaming monkey thing will be the worst.

No, Cyndaquil is actually the best for GS, i have it for my silver. Compared to the rest, chikorita and totodile, cyndaquil is WAY better.

Yeah, Typhlosion dosen't suck, he's actually fairly good, hand him a Flamethrower, a Thunder Punch and an Earthquake and he can hold up pretty well in a battle.

he's ok, but he's outclassed by its peers in terms of being useful; zard's a killing machine where as venus's is a freaking brick wall, blast falls short of either but does make up for its lack of use by being able to spin and haze, but hazing has gone out of fashion, so, blastoise with it

also note: starmie/gyarados/vaporeon are all native to the kanto region (vapor SORTA is...) and they were... ARE, infact, tonnes more useful than blast, and if you want to argue blast can stand its ground better than those 3, then we can mention slowbro/lapras who WAY outclasses blast's staying power, and if you wanted defense then kingler/cloyster take the cake back in R/B/Y

fire alternatives: all are weak to ground, only zard can fly (moltress is a better version of zard, but you can't breed moltres and zard's moveset's more versatile)

grass alternatives: the first decent one comes after the 6th gym (exeggcute/exeggutor) and that only became fact after 3rd gen

15, but it's a part of the storyline and you can teach it TM's straight from the get go with the celadon department store sitting pretty next to you, stocked fulla TMs, and STAB icebeam is always good

FR/LG = Blast

C/S/G = Meganium

E/R/S = ???

D/P = I think the Fire type one..

The worst from Emerald, Ruby, and Saphire is Blazikin.
