On 12-May-2007 imaloony8.0 said:Mario Man, are you insane? Just wondering, because swampert, a hoenn starter, is considered the best starter period, and Sceptile and Blazikin, both hoenn starters, are tied for the second most useful starter.

Kanto's starters were a little wishy-washy, it had Charizard, one of the best starters in the game, venasaur, a good, but not great, starter, and Blastoise, the worst.

Johto had Typhlosion, a good, not great, starter, Faraligator, who sucks in general, and Magnium, who also sucks in general.

Hoenn had Swampert, the best starter, Sceptile, the 'grass god' a brilliant starter and the best grass type in the game (Although Torterra might pervail ahead of this guy...) and Blazikin, an awesome starter, but not as useful as charizard.
I overlooked it.

1st Hoenn Starers

2nd Kanto Starters

3rd Johto Starters (Damn Meganium! How dare it defy me!)

These are the overall results (Stupid Meganium!).

For once, you get something right. Hoenn's starters were by far the best, Kanto had Charizard and Venusaur, who are both very good Pokmon, and all Johto had to earn a remotely good name with their starters is Typhlosion.

Lol. The first time I played Johto I picked Meganium. I did okay with it then, but now I can't do **** with it.

It's surprising how much of a noob you can be and still kick *** with the worst starter, then when you become better, you can't do anything with it. I used to be one of those people who only trained their starter and never caught anything else...I was such a noob back then.

It's because the AI in the game are worse noobs than the player.

Still, now I can't do crap with anyone except Typhlosion, whereas I was awesome with Meganium when I was a noob.

I've started my game over at least 10 times and I've found that treecko was the best starter. Simply because it helps capturing even stronger and better pokemon

This is the worst starter topic, not the best starter.

Do you think if venusuar, and charizard where in a double battle with 2 blastoise, that the blastoise would win? cause some peeps are saying that blastoise arent good. But if you put some heart into training the blastoise, they could win against them. : doh :

2 Blastioise's vs. Charizard and Venasaur

A few turns later...

Charizard: Status: Health: yellow (POSSIBLY KOed if the person with the Blastoise's is a total noob and put Hydro Blast and/or Hydro Pump on them, then double teamed Charizard)
Venasaur: Status: Health: green
vs.
Blastoise 1: Status: Health: owned
Blastoise 2: Status: Health: Double owned

As you can see, it ain't even close. And Blastoise's AREN'T good, they only work as rapid spinners, and rapid spinners aren't anything great, he's also slow as hell, and has a tendancy to get his *** kicked in net battle.

And just to let you know, to do Doh, you need to remove the space between your colons and the word "doh".

And yes, Blastoise would get owned. Rapid Spin and Mirror Coat. Mirror Coat is only good once without a healing move, so Blastoise dies to everything.

Is Blastoise UU or NU?

On 25-Apr-2007 guy in oakland said:no, im just saying in my opinion he's the best of the three to pick, since throughout the game you need a water pokemon
No, he isn't even a good WATER Pokemon, Just get a starmie/Lapras and your good to go.

RB: Blastose
GSC: Magnenium
ERS: Blaziken. Even though it is a good pokemon, the other two kick it)

The only problem Sceptile might have with Blaziken is Overheat. I always put Overheat on my Blaziken.

Eh Overheat? You must be joking, overheat is a bad move, after using it once, Blazikin become pretty usless for the rest of the battle.

Besides, we ain't comparing each starter in how they would do in a battle against each other, we're comparing how good they are in general.

Hey guys what's wrong with blastoise?

They created the starter pokemon because they were all equally capable of beating each other. If one starter pokemon beats another starter pokemon, its not the pokemon thats better, its the trainer.

By the way i like all the starters - especially Treecko.

Spoken like someone who is too much into the "faith" in the game -_-

It doesn't work like that. If it did, then I could raise a Caterpie to defeat a Mewtwo. Since it doesn't, we have this thread.

Swords Dance
Rock Slide
Sky Uppercut
Overheat

@Leftovers

Works good, considering he's physical. Or:

Rock Slide
Hidden Power [Ghost]
Sky Uppercut
Overheat

@Choice Band

I use Overheat to hit things hard. Fire Blast is an option, too, but I rarely use Overheat, so I put it on him.

I know we aren't comparing how the starters would do in a battle against each other, but he had said that both Sceptile and Swampert would beat Blaziken. Just proving my point.

Factor's right. Blaziken's physical and shouldn't focus that much on Special Attacks, so Overheat works with him.
