I've beaten the 8th gym leader clair but i haven't got my gym badge. why is this, did i skip something important when talking to him after the battle. please help

She doesn't give it to you at first, I think you have to go to Dragon's Den and get it.

Go to the Dragon's Den its behind the gym. You'll need a pokemon that knows surf and whirlpool. Make your way to the shrine and the elder will ask you questions. After you answer them Clair will show up and give you a gym badge.
You can also get Dartini from the elder. To do that you have to go back to the gym and get the TM from Clair. Go back to the Dragon's Den with an empty slot in your party and talk to the elder again. Depending on how you answered the questions from earlyer your Dratini might know ExtremeSpeed.

By Beating clair, Go to the dragons den. North of town. Surf there. Its a small cave. Can't miss it. Anyways... Surf to the small little house in the lake and take the master's Quiz. Its easy. When Defeated, he will give you a dratini. Clair will come rushing in and give you your badge.

She gives it to you after you finish Dragon's Den. She doesn't give it to you because you beat her.
