Been playing around with a few mates, and we've decided to run a tournament using any pokemon we wish, but with certain limitations.
When drawn out of a hat, we drew that each person would be limited to a single type team - I drew Normal. There were being 16 others, each Type was taken, so it's all good. When working out what pokemon I can use, I have these to choose from - Pidgeot, Raticate, Fearow, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Persian, Farfetch'd, Dodrio, Lickitung, Blissey, Tauros, Ditto, Kangaskhan, Eevee, Porygon2, Snorlax, Furret, Noctowl, Togetic, Aipom, Girafarig, Dunsparce, Granbull, Ursaring, Stantler, Smeargle, Miltank, Linoone, Swellow, Slaking, Exloud, Azurill, Delcatty, Spinda, Swablu, Zangoose, Castform, and Kecleon. If you're willing to make suggestions, then those are the ones I am able to choose from, or there un-evolved forms. These are my first ideas for them - Kangaskhan @ Leftovers Snappy Quiet 212 HP, 252 Attack, 44 Special Attack Avalanche Focus Punch Substitute Reversal/Dizzy Punch Blissey @ Leftovers Bold 252 HP, 252 Defence, 4 Special Defence Seismic Toss SoftBoiled Dream Eater Sing Girafarig @ Twisted Spoon/Black Glasses Mild 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP? Psychic Crunch Agility Substitute? Castform @ Mystic Water Modest 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP Rain Dance Thunder - Water, Flying, Steel Weather Ball - Fire, Steel, Rock, Ground, Fire Blast - Grass, Steel, Ice, Bug Clefable @ Soft Sand/Nevermeltice Modest 252 Special Attack, 128 Special Defence, 128 Defence Ice Beam - Flying, Dragon, Grass, Bug, Earthquake - Electric Softboiled Toxic Now I'm stuck for my last slot. I have a Physical Sweeper, a HealTank, a Fighting Counter, 2 Special Sweepers. Last slot is either going to be an annoyer (Slaking), or another Physical Sweeper (Tauros/Another Kangaskhan). Suggestions would be appreciated. |

On 18-Apr-2009 vitor said: noctowl could be a good one for your team. with a move set like hypnosis, dream eater, fly, and another move... Hypnosis and Dream Eater doesn't do as much as you think. Hypnosis is fine, Dream Eater isn't. Fly is just as bad, give your opponent the chance to set-up. Depending on what you train it in ATk or Sp. Atk. It it were in Atk, I'd teach it Hypnosis, Aerial Ace,...and that's about it. Then again, Sp.Atk is about the same. Teach it Hypnosis, Psychic maybe, a special type Flying-type move, and something else. His movepool is that great in Emerald. My Aipom is famous for being the strongest Aipom ever on this site.

Maybe Snorlax will be good. After all it can learn pretty decent TM's like Earthquake and Thunderbolt. Aipom is good for you too. Aipom is a good Normal type too. It really Levels up sorta fast.
I play Pokemon SoulSilver, want my friend code?

The problem with Snorlax (like Most Normal types) is that they don't really excel in any area - I've only heard or seen Blissey/Kangaskhan used effectively, perhaps Tauros, although he lacks any real oomph compared to other dedicated Physical Sweepers.
Also, Snorlax is built like a Tank, but with few Tank moves - although it can Subpunch, so that's a bonus. Having read above, here's what I've got - Noctowl @ Leftovers 252 HP, 252 Defence, 4 Special Attack/Speed Bold Hypnosis Dream Eater Steel Wing Hidden Power (Ground/Ghost/Flying/Electric) Should work well in tandem with Blissey in a dual battle, but otherwise lacks any real oomph. Any comments on it? Its intention is to be used before Blissey to send them asleep, and then swap out, giving them a turn to recouperate (and so I don't waste a Dream Eater), or give me a turn to get my health back. It works well in a double batle though - they've worked wonders as a pair when I tested them, but on its own, I'm not too sure. |

well, demon of sand said that dream eater couldn't do much.. and i start to think like it...
maybe an aerial ace instead of dream eater could do it? since it's the only flying move i think good enough that it can learn... |
