Are all HM's required to get past Victory Road? Also, when will I encounter Zekrom?

I would kinda like to know the same thing. I've been procrastinating over getting that Victory road done because I don't want to go out to find all those other HM's.
And to the best of my knowledge, you encounter Zekrom after you beat the Elite 4.

You really only need Strength, from what I've been told, to get to the actually E4 building... (And prolly Surf)

I've read on Bulbapedia that catching Zekrom is mandatory when completing the storyline, so is there a story after the ELite 4? If so, THAT IS AWESOME!

HM01: Cut - No
HM02: Fly - Obviously not, lol
HM03: Surf - Not sure, can't really remember. I think you need it to get a few items (one being a Rare Candy, I believe)
HM04: Strength - Yes
HM05: Waterfall - Nope
HM06: Dive - You don't have that yet.
Zekrom is in N's Castle.
I'll try not to spoil this as much as possible.
Something happens at the league that continues the storyline.

Go to the gray building in the upper left corner of the city (No, not the arena). He'll be inside.

Its not actually necessary to get through.To find items yes,to get through no.I didnt even have strength till post game.

you get strength in Nimbasa City you arrive at the pokemon center you go right, up, then the first left, you will see 2 houses go to the farthest house you will see an ace trainer you will get strength [:
