Yes, you can encounter Shiny Pokemon in XD, Odds always the same.

It True!!!!!!!!

I purified Shadow Lugia, and it was a different color!!!!!!

Well, I also found this out:

You Don't know if they're Shiny until they're purified.

but A glitch in Colloseum (Not to be off topic)

Some pokemon Aren't shiny until they're purified, but I actually found Shadow Tyranitar in the Alternate color, BEFORE IT WAS PURIFIED!!!!

But the Odds are still high, but I found 5 shiny Pokemon in XD, so I'm guessing 1 out of 1355.

lucky, well i guess i cant complain since i found 4 shiny pokemon on gold, 1 shiny pokemon on ruby, and got a groundon on ruby to get pokerus.

i have a shadow pokemon on heart gold is a growlithe and I have another shiny and a normal I have it in my pokemon team and are my most important pokemons because of they I won the pokemon lenguaje are so incredibles shadows pokemons

they can be obtained in battle cd i know cause my first legit shiny was a shiny suicune found in a battle cd in XD

Last time I checked, there was a glitch in Colosseum that made it possible to catch a Shiny Shadow Pokemon, though the chances of meeting one are the usual shiny encounter rate. Those same chances apply when you catch a Shiny Shadow Poke and send it to your P.C.

In Pokemon XD however, they corrected that glitch so it was impossible to catch a Shadow Pokemon in its shiny form. It is still possible to catch a Shiny Pokemon from a Poke Spot, same shiny encounter rate applied.
