The Dahaka Chase - Help Would Be Much Appreciated!

I've been attempting again and again to flee from it, buuuuuut I guess I really do need help. I'm in the Mechanical tower, and am on the section where I should be able to wall run once, twice, grab a rope and then run through a wall of water. From this the Dahaka ceases to chase the Prince for a short time, while you must press a switch and go from there. I haven't been able to get past the second wall run... ^_^; I wall run, grab the rope, release immediately and every time he runs across the wall but falls just short of the platform. I'm pretty sure I've done everything right, so pleaaaaaaaaaase help me.
I'll point out things I've tried: Climbing higher up the rope and slowing down time, (the Dahaka gives me hugs and kisses immediately afterwards...), Leaping to the side to see if there's another ledge (Gaaaame Oveerrr).

Is this a glitch or am I just stupid as hell?
